A hand-packed brush fence is a good choice for just about any property, as it offers many advantages over wood, chain link, wrought iron, glass, and other such common choices. A hand-packed brush fence is a favourite for many rural homes but can also be installed on residential lots in the city and even on commercial properties. If you're thinking of having a new fence installed on your property, you might note some advantages of this fence material versus any other, so you can decide if this is the right option for your fencing needs.

Privacy and sound insulation

If your home is located very close to your neighbours or a busy roadway, you may need some added privacy and some sound insulation. A hand-packed fence offers both, as the brush material that makes up the fence is very dense and packed very tightly. The brush used for the fence can also easily absorb sound rather than echoing and amplifying sound, as can happen with a metal or glass fence. The natural material of the packed brush can also make the fence look more natural and less imposing than a large solid-panel wood fence, so you have the privacy and sound insulation you need but without making your space seem closed-in.

Maintenance

A packed brush fence is very unlikely to sag, simply because the brush is packed so tightly. The fence won't need constant maintenance to keep it looking new, as does chain link fencing that tends to droop in the middle and pull away from posts and connectors. Wood fences will absorb moisture over time, so the wood slats may eventually cup and bow and curve out of position. With a hand-packed brush fence, the fence itself will stay upright over time and not look old and worn. This natural material will also not rust, rot or hold mould or mildew, as do many metal and wood fencing options.

Eco-friendly choice

Brush fencing is a very eco-friendly choice, unlike steel or wood. Steel is made from collecting iron ore, often with a harsh blasting method that is hurtful to the environment, and making wood fences can mean cutting trees and also hurting the environment.

The brush used for hand-packed fences can be easily collected without blasting. In some cases, it may not even require cutting, as this brush may be reclaimed from sites that have been cleared for construction or other use. This makes hand-packed brush fencing a very eco-friendly option.
